Iranians mourn for Hazrat Masouma (PBUH)

Iranian Muslims have marked the demise anniversary of Lady Fatima Masouma (PBUH).

Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) is the sister of Imam Reza (PBUH) the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims.

In 818 AD, Imam Reza (PBUH) was murdered by the Abbasid caliph al-Mamun (ruled 813–833 AD) and was buried in what is today the city of Mashhad.

Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) was born on the first day of the Islamic lunar month of Dhu al-Qi'dah, approximately on March 22, 790 AD in Madina.

Iranians mourned on the auspicious occasion at ceremonies held at religious centers all over the country on Monday, particularly at Hazrat Masoumeh’s (PBUH) shrine in the Iranian city of Qom.

Being one of the biggest religious cities of Iran, Qom hosts the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) and Jamkaran Mosque that attract so many pilgrims all over the year.
